Technical Issues

My camera does not work when connected to a Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series Inline Power Switch

The Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series Inline Power Switch supports "Cisco Pre-Standard Power over Ethernet".  It does not support the IEEE 802.3af inline power standard required for e-Watch cameras and encoders.  Most e-Watch cameras will work with this switch, but some customers have experienced problems when connecting cameras with firmware version 3.0.1.5 delivered with SiteWatch version 3.0.12.

e-Watch has developed camera firmware version 3.0.1.7 for customers with SiteWatch version 3.0.12 who are experiencing this problem.

Do not download and install this version of the camera firmware unless you are running SiteWatch version 3.0.12 and are experiencing problems with a Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series Inline Power Switch.

Cameras with firmware versions 3.0.1.5 and 3.0.1.7 can co-exist on a SiteWatch network. e-Watch recommends that you install camera firmware version 3.0.1.7 only on cameras connected to a Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series Inline Power Switch.

Click here to download camera firmware version 3.0.1.7.

Camera firmware version 3.0.1.7 is also available on the e-Watch website at
ftp://www.e-watch.com/SiteWatch 3.0.12/Camera Firmware.
