Technical Issues

New camera does not show up in ViewWatch new camera list

All cameras have a server setting that tells them what the IP address of their e-Watch server is. They use this setting to present themselves to the server. If this setting is wrong, they will never "meet" the server.

If the camera has its default dynamic IP settings; then it will be the DHCP server’s responsibility to give the camera its server setting.
This method will sometimes fail if there are multiple DHCP servers on the same subnet; unless all of the possible DHCP server are setup to hand out the e-Watch server setting to the camera or encoder.

Optionally the user can hard code the e-Watch server’s IP address in to camera or encoder using either the camera configuration utility or the ViewWatch interface.
