The e-Watch service does not start automatically If the e-Watch service does not start automatically and gives the following error "Basic services not registered. Security device not connected or not registered" There could be two possible problems. The first reason for this error is the HASP key not being connected or its driver being corrupted. See this document for detail The second reason for this error is a problem in the service manager. This error is a little more drastic. To solve this, reload the operating system and e-Watch software. Verify the key light is on. If the light is not on, then the HASP key is not connected or its drivers are not functioning. If the key is on then there might be a problem in the service manager
